By plane:
The nearest airport for visiting the Costa Dorada is Reus (REU), from here the distances to the best known holiday resorts are: Tarragona: 7 km, Salou: 5 km, Cambrils: 10 km, El Vendrell: 36 km und Calafell: 38 km.
However, you may find a greater choice and better deals by flying to Barcelona (BCN), from there it 54 km to Calafell, 57 km to El Vendrell, 89 km to Tarragona, 100 km to Salou and 106 km to Cambrils.

By car:
The Costa Dorada and Tarragona have a good road infrastructure, there are two highways to Barcelona (both with toll), the C-32 and the A-7 (Autovía del Mediterráneo).
It is recommended that you rent a car already before beginning your travel, as at the airport you may be charged considerably more. Here you find car rentals at very low rates. |
By train:
There are train connections to Tarragona from practically all Spanish province capitals, as well as connections with the high speed train AVE to Madrid, Barcelona, Lerida (Lleida), Zaragoza, Ciudad Real, Puerto Llano, Cordoba and Seville.
Also Salou can be reached by train, but the remaining coastal resorts only by car or bus. |
